The Anti-Human Trafficking of the Negros Nine Human Development Foundation, Inc. sponsored a para legal training on Republic Act 9208 and other related laws last January 27, 2010 at the San Columbano, Batang, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.

Social workers from different local government units , womens’ and childrens’ desk of the Philippine National Police, ngo’s, social action center of the Diocese of Kabankalan, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, Visayan Forum, Pilippine Anti-Child Trafficking and other stakeholders from southern Negros attended the said seminar.

Issues concerning the plight of the women and children was discussed during the seminar.

Lawyers Collin Derk Y. Isidto, Arnel Sigue, Cheryl Catubig and Prosecutor Mercy Sarsaba were the invited speakers.
The participants forged a commitment to work collectively to eradicate the prevalent issue of human trafficking.
