Negros Nine group to buy seedlings from students

The Negros Nine Human Development Foundation Inc. will purchase seedlings for its reforestation project from students of the Colambo Primary School in Oringao, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, who are beneficiaries of its nutrition program, a press release from the group said.

Starting next month, students can bring up to 20 seedlings each, that will be bought by the Negros Nine at P5 each seedling. It means extra income for pupils and their parents, and the seedlings will be used by Negros Nine for the reforestation project, the press release also said.

Negros Nine Feeding Program Marks its Second Year

To combat malnutrition and hunger, Negros Nine with the aid from friends of Negros Nine sponsored the feeding program at Colambo Primary School in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental. More 150 pupils are the recipient of free lunch from Monday to Friday, 200 days in a school year.

The feeding project is now on its second year. As a result, it improved the attendance of pupils and lessen the dropout rate is almost zero.
